Frequently asked Questions
How did Esme's painting journey start?
Mama loves to paint, so I’ve sometimes watched her. But she hardly has time anymore, and she also does not do anything abstract like me. It might be because we’re different sizes, but our styles are VERY different. When we were visiting my grandparents in Germany in June 2024, however, Mama got her old acrylic paints and easel from the attic and I really wanted to see what this was all about. So she told me to go for it and I did! That’s when I created my first artwork, “The Angel”. I’ve been crazy about painting ever since.
Does Esme paint everything on her own?
Yes, I do paint everything on my own. I actually get quite mad when I think someone tries to interfere (and I can be a force of nature!). I pick my own colours and I choose the utensils and the size of the canvas. Sometimes Mama shows me new techniques and we try them out together. But that is separate from my creations.
There are many many videos of my painting processes on Instagram – Mama is quite good at capturing my progress. Not all videos make it onto social media though, because my parents want to avoid showing my face. Which is a shame, really, because I am adorable.
I have help with cleaning up and with buying new art supplies. Sometimes I think they get a little weary by how much stuff I go through. But then again, I am adorable, so I’m forgiven.
Can I buy a painting?
Thank you so much for loving my art! I don’t understand anything about selling yet, so all of this is managed by my parents. You can write them a message via the contact form or an e-mail or send them a message on instagram.
Shipping
We are located in the US, but ship internationally, no problem. Additional shipping costs may apply.
Where does the money from sold paintings go?
I as the artist get all the money, of course! But not quite yet. As I’m so young, my parents put all profit away somewhere safe waiting for me until I am of age.
Commissions
If you would like to sign up for a new painting, I’d be honoured! But I am sure you understand that commissioning an artwork by me is a little tricky. My parents never tell me what to paint, put pressure on me or restrict me in my creativity. It would destroy the whole point for me.
I could only offer you to choose the canvas size yourself and perhaps give me colour preferences. But as I’m a child, and my feelings and impulses mean the world to me, I could never enter a binding contract or promise to fulfil your request.
